I have an extreme headache today!!! I honestly didn't put a whole lot into running because my head pounded as my feet hit the treadmill. Hopefully this is not a shunt issue... I always get worried when I have headaches now, knowing that I could potentially go back to my previous miserable state. I made no effort to exert myself in any way and am a bit disappointed that I didn't push through.
I did end up taking a very small walking break in the middle of my 2 mile run. For the most part, I ran at 5 mph, minus my 2 min at 4 mph. I burned 319 cals and it took me a little over 24 minutes.
This is a way for me to hold myself accountable as well as log my progress through preparing for my first half marathon. If you are lucky enough to get an invite, please read along and motivate me!

Getting Sick :(
Well today didn't go as planned... I realized that I am getting a cold. It is not full force yet but I can tell that it's coming when I run. Troy has been sick all week so this is no surprise really. I decided on a shorter run due to my lack of breathing capabilities.
Anyways, I ran 2 miles straight at 5 Mph and it took me a little under 25 mins. Burned 325 Calories.

MUCH BETTER!!!
I woke up this morning, (after getting 7 hours of sleep), ate breakfast with Troy and ran! Thanks dad for the encouragement last night! I am glad to know that people believe in me! Let me tell you, this was a waaay better experience than last night! What a great way to start the day! I feel alert and refreshed! Let's get to the good stuff shall we?
I ran 3 miles at 5mph, no stopping and no slowing down! It took me 37 minutes and I burned 483 Cals! This is an accomplishment for me! I could have went further but didn't leave myself enough time... I will have to start earlier tomorrow!

An 8 o'clock run isn't a smart move!
So I have learned a very important lesson today! There is no way that I can effectively start running at 8 o'clock at night. As I'm running tonight, I realize that I didn't get much sleep last night (very tired) and I only ate once today (nothing like pizza jumping rope in your stomach while running). This obviously is not going to help me gain mileage. Lesson learned, I promise! By the way, I took the day off of running yesterday. I was a little sore and super busy. The goal is not to kill myself in the beginning. :) I am not a blogger and will not blog on days of inactivity. Now, to get to the disappointing portion of this day...
I ran for 2 miles burning 315 cals for a total of 24 minutes. again, lesson learned. I will do whatever possible to make sure that I wake up early to run. Rather than waiting until the end of the day!

Decision Day!
Today I have decided to sign up for the half marathon on May 6th. The reasoning is really simple.... Always attempt to accomplish the impossible! I am not a runner and very seldom wake up early enough to attempt to run. I am a full time student, mother and child care provider with a rental business on the side. This is not going to be easy for me. What I can tell you is that I am a very determined human being who strives off of other people's disbelief's. There are quite a few people who, for obviously valid reasons, do not believe that I will make it through this race. I will prove you wrong! Besides the obvious stubbornness, I am really looking forward to training in order to become more fit. Surely conditioning my body to run 13 miles will transform my body in some way. I will also be keeping track of my weight as a reference point of where I have started and where I am currently.
So today, I ran for 2.3 miles at 5mph. I got a little tired and went to 4mph for .4 miles. Then finished my 3 miles running (the last .3). This took me 39 minutes and I burned 481 calories! The last 10 miles should be a breeze right? lol I have a long ways to go but am 100% optimistic!
Bring on tomorrow!
